TIPS ON HOW TO PREPARE

LET'S TALK.

Your choice of clothing is important to your photo session. Clothing can make or break a portrait. It is a good idea to stay true to your style but also keep in mind what reads well on camera, and the location you end up picking. We are creating art and clothing can be a great opportunity to make that art come to life.

There are many options to select from when sorting through your closet. You may like monochromatic earth tones, high waisted denim, floral maxi dresses or the trending crop top options that are super popular.

Whatever you decide to wear be sure to keep in mind the current weather conditions for your session.

INSPIRATION

It’s a great idea to find inspiration pieces first! Then pick colors and patterns to go along with that piece. A denim jacket is an example of an inspiration piece!

PRO TIP: Make Pinterest your best friend; search, “Denim jacket outfit inspiration.”

TEXTURE

Texture, such as ruffles, lace, pleats, buttons and leather are all examples of texture. These textures all photograph beautifully and will add dimension into your finished pictures making them more interesting.

PATTERN

Try coordinating colors and patterns. Mix and match small plaids with stripes for a fun and original vibe. Throw in a graphic tee if you’re feeling bold!

LAYER

Try to layer your clothes with jackets, sweaters, coats, loose button downs and really anything to add another layer.

VARIETY

Switching up your looks is a great idea. Stay casual for one outfit and then try a more edgy, preppy or sophisticated vibe for all the others you plan.

PRO TIP: Each outfit should be different than the others before it. Remember to wear at least one pant option to maximize posing.

ACCESSORIES

One of the most important things to remember are your accessories-these are what make your pictures POP! Wide brim hats, leather boots, soft scarfs, rings, watches and necklaces, purse backpacks, and sunglasses all will help add interest plus aid in posing!
