Spring is right around the corner and today I want to share a few must haves for successful senior pictures this spring and this coming summer. Many of these seem like a no brainer but often times are overlooked. I want you to arrive at your Senior pictures ready and prepared so your finished pictures are polished and stunning!
First up is variety. Wearing a variety of clothing will ensure the photographer can pose you in a lot of different ways. Think denim for those sitting and squatting looks and maybe a flowy dress where the wind can accentuate your pictures as the dress drifts in the wind. Short skirts can be difficult so it’s best to use discretion when opting for these. When selecting your outfits incorporating 3-4 different styles is advisable; whatever you do don’t bring three floral sundresses.
Next up, I must have hats and sunglasses! Yes, these are items that will help mix up your pictures. Bring two different hats and at least one pair of sunglasses for those Instagram worthy Senior Sunday posts. You will not regret having three to five pictures that are candid and fun.
Lastly, I always encourage my high school seniors in Fishers to bring a jacket, cardigan or scarf (something that can wrap around the shoulders). These versatile pieces add an extra layer to your outfit and look so beautiful when dropped down casually around your shoulders or wrapped tightly as if you were giving yourself a hug. So-so versatile and easy to remove too; layering is key.
Consider a denim coat over a lace tank or lightweight cardigan over a floral knee length sundress. Your pictures will be more interesting and these items do double duty because they give you a place to rest your hands when posing too-love that!
I am looking forward to capturing the graduating class of 2020 and hope to see many of you this summer! Your senior portraits are only taken once so make them extra special by including these must haves!
