Everything you'll wish you had in case of an emergency at your upcoming portraits
As a dedicated Indianapolis senior photographer, I know how exciting—and sometimes nerve-wracking—preparing for your senior portraits can be. This is a major celebration of your journey, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. To help you tackle anything and help you feel ready for your close-up, I’ve created a special emergency kit for your upcoming senior portraits!
The Senior Session Emergency Kit:
In this kit, you’ll find everything you need in case something unexpected pops-up. We’ve got you covered, and this kit is your one-stop-shop for all the things you’ll need in case of an emergency. Let’s Go:
- COLD WATER: Modeling is a lot of work, having a sip of cold water in between shots helps both relax and cool you off.
- LIP GLOSS: Bring along your go-to for touch up’s during our time together. Having the option to re-apply your lip color during your session is smart!
- MIRROR: Get a good look of your hair and make-up at outfit changes without relying on your phone’s camera! No more awkward hair parts—just pure, photogenic confidence.
- MAKEUP WIPES: A quick way to fix under-eye mascara smudges, makeup transfer to your clothes, and to switch up lip colors during your shoot. These are also great to help blot on hotter days!
- SAFETY PINS: Keep loose dress straps tight, or pants snug around your waist-we love having safety pins for all kinds of wardrobe emergencies.
- COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES: Let’s face it, heels on a gravel road are the worst! Bring along your Birks for ease of movement between spots without worrying about twisting your ankle or ruining your shoes.
- TYLENOL: Having your pictures is a BIG deal, you’ll feel excited, overwhelmed, and anxious. If you’re like most girls, you’ll likely not eat because of your nerves- bring the Tylenol so your experience isn’t overshadowed by a headache.
- SNACKS: From pretzels to gummie worms and gold fish….bring something small to snack on at outfit changes to give you a boost of energy and keep the hangry at bay!
- ONE EXTRA OUTFIT: Clothing has a way of looking amazing in the dressing room, but then on location a few weeks later can end up fitting surprisingly different! Zippers have been known to fail unexpectedly as well. These two reasons alone are why it’s a good idea to have an extra outfit on hand so you have the flexibility to switch it up on the fly!
- SCISSORS: There have been many occasions where a pair of scissors came in handy! From cutting shoulder hanging ribbons, to price tags and shortening floral stems, and beyond!
